 Hearing and Listening 聽和傾聽

     So busy being busy, 由於一直忙碌於

Concerned with my own affairs, 個人私事，

     I hear but do not listen, 我未專心傾聽

   In conversation and prayer. 與人交談和禱告中

For hearing is quite passive, 漫不經心的聽是很被動

But we listen with the heart, 而傾聽是專心的

  Giving our full attention, 全神貫注的

Instead of fragments and parts. 而非片段、局部

  If we take time to listen, 若我們花時間傾聽

We’ll hear God’s own gentle voice, 就能聽見神輕柔的聲音

  In nature and each other, 在大自然和交談之中

 Far above life’s din and noise. 它比世間的噪音更大。

B.      英譯版本之比較：

1)      Because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the dayspring from on high shall visit us. Luke 1: 78

To shine upon them that sit in darkness and the shadow of death; to guide our feet into the way of peace. Luke 1:79 --American Standard Version/ King James Version

1:78 註：Whereby= by Whom；dayspring應為day(=dawn)springs (=rises)；visit= shine upon照射。中譯如下：

「因為上帝的慈悲，使晨曦從高處照在我們身上」

1:79 註：強調兩個處所。中譯如下：

 要照在黑暗中及死亡陰影下人們的身上；要引導我們走上平安之路。

2)      78-Because of our God’s deep compassion, the dawn from heaven will break upon us, 79-to give light to those who are sitting in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide us on the path of peace. Contemporary English Bible.

78- 註：本版用compassion代替mercy；the dawn = the light= the daybreak用break upon 代替shine upon 更生動。中譯如下：

「由於上帝深切的同情心，晨曦突然照射在我們身上」

79- 註：指走上再引導。中譯如下：

「袘要照在黑暗中及死亡陰影下的人；使我們在平安之途安穩地行走」。

3)      78- Because of and through the heart of tender mercy and loving-kindness of our God, a Light from on high will dawn upon us and visit us.

79- To shine upon and give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to direct and guide our feet in a straight line into the way of peace.- Amplified Bible

78- 註：用Because of 表原因；through表示手段；tender mercy 及loving-kindness表示慈愛；用dawn upon，另有使人頓悟之意。中譯如下：

「由於上帝的慈悲及用愛心，從高空投下的光將照在我們身上，使我們醒悟」

79- 註：不但用shine，又用give light to。中譯如下：

「要照射；並把光明帶給處於黑暗中及死亡陰暗下之人；也要筆直地引導我們走向平安之道」。

4)  78- God’s love and kindness will shine upon us like the sun that rises in the sky.

     

     79-On us who live in the dark shadow of death this light will shine to guide usinto a life of peace. -Contemporary English Version

    

     78- 註：用love and kindness表示慈悲；本版本不用因為，而直接表明God’s love就等於一道光，似同太陽。中譯如下：

「上帝的慈愛像在高空中升起的太陽，將照射在我們身上」。

79- 註：照亮的僅有在死亡陰影下的人。中譯如下：

「要照亮在死亡陰影下的我們；此光會照耀來引導我們走入平安之道」。

以上兩節各英文版本的譯文大同小異，但仍有小小的差別。
