台灣俗語的智慧(11)

1)    賊較(卡)惡人 作錯事反而責怪受害人- A thief is even harsher or rougher than a victim, (trying to cover up his theft) 意圖掩蓋偷竊行為

註：較=比較=compared with與…相比

2)    層層塔塔 一連串的麻煩 a series/ pile of troubles

註：層可唸成tsang或tin

3)    三時有辰 偶而- occasionally (若着重於否定)= seldom註：台語「時辰」=time或timing

4)    欠他他欠 (長短帳)欠別人的錢或別人欠他的what one owes someone else, and what he is owed.

5)    吃銅吃鐵 貪得無厭/連硬的金屬也要吃A person is so greedy/avaricious as to eat even metal like copper or iron.

6)    滿面全豆花 completely losing one’s face/臉上無光(難看)or feeling disgraceful(顏面盡失)

7)    無錢假大扮 pretending that one is rich when actually he is broke. 註：「假」= pretend偽裝；「大扮」= classy

8)   福地福人居 Persons with good luck can prosper even if they dwell in a property with bad location or Feng-Shui. 註：居=居住=live=reside。「福地」另作「埋葬用地」解；「福人」指有福氣的人

9)    恨命莫怨天 It is the bad fate rather than Heaven’s will that is to blame. 註：怨=complain

10) 死人袜講話 Dead men tell no tales. (死無對證)

11)   戇人有戇福=天公疼戇人 The foolish are most blessed.

12) 二八亂穿衣 農曆二月與八月氣温不穩定，冬衣與夏衣隨便穿 People wear either heavy or light clothes as they wish, for the weather is changeable in February and August (in Lunar Calendar Year-農曆) 大陸用的是三(月)九(月)亂穿衣
