98) stature / statue /statute/status:

1. stature n. 身材 = standing height

a. A man with extraordinarily high ~ appeared at the window. 一位相當高個子的人出現在窗口。

b. She might have been a horse, one without impressive ~ or coloring or head shape. 牠也許是一匹馬，一匹沒有高大身材，突出的顏色或頭部外形。(註：impressive a. 令人印象深刻的)

* stature n. 高的身分或地位: He is a man of high ~ = He is respected by others. 他受人尊敬。

2. statue n. (用石頭、金屬、石膏之) 雕像

a. Some people jokingly suggest that the ~of Liberty face all directions instead of east only.

有些人開玩笑地建議自由女神像應面對四面八方，而非僅對東邊。

 題外話 ：

自由女神像原面向東邊乃針對 (歡迎) 歐洲移民(含被迫害者)；二次大戰後，來自美國西邊的亞洲移民逐漸增多，但未見神像轉向！
