9) 矮狗的呼蜂叮著

直譯：A dumb is bit by bees. 當啞吧被蜜蜂咬到(痛苦得說不出來)。(台語矮狗的即啞吧) 相等於漢語 -啞巴吃黃蓮

意譯：Though someone is hurt, bitten or suffers a loss, he is unable to / or cannot very well talk it out.(suffer a loss遭受損失) 雖受傷、被咬或遭受損失，卻叫不出來或無法啓口。

10) 一盤魚仔全頭

直譯：There is nothing but fish heads instead of fish meat on a dish. 或All fish heads are placed on a dish. (在一盤菜中，看不到魚肉只有魚頭)

意譯： Each is struggling to be head of a group, not giving in to other. (struggle to 爭着要…give in to 屈服於) (比喻)一群人争相當領袖，互不相讓，而受人諷刺。

11) 鯽仔魚釣大代

直譯：用小魚去釣大魚。With small fishes as bait, one tries to catch a big one. (鯽仔魚-類似吳郭魚的小魚，代仔魚比鯽仔魚大。bait  n. 魚餌)

意譯：Using a small favor, one attempts to get a big profit. 施以小恩或犧牲小物，意圖獲得更大利潤。(attempt to…企圖)

12) 救蟲嘸通救人

直譯：Better save a worm than help or save a person.

 

意譯: People saved may be ungrateful but a saved worm may give something in return. 被救的人不知感恩，而被救的蟲也許尚會回報 (ungrateful a.忘恩的;worm n. 小蟲；earth worm蚯蚓 ; give something in return 回報)

13) 死鴨仔，硬嘴巴

直譯：When a duck is dead, its mouth is tightly closed.

意譯：(死不認錯；一再狡辯) Someone stubbornly insisting on one’s innocence and refusing to admit one’s fault.( 固執地堅持自己的無辜；拒絕認錯)

14) 牛屎無看，看鳥仔屎?

直譯：Bull shit is ignored，let alone bird shit. (一堆牛屎都不重視了，又何必計較區區一小堆鳥屎?)

意譯：As long as a big loss is done, why worry about a small one? (既已蒙受了大損失，就不必計較小失利了) (as long as…在…條件下)

15) 猴毛挫一支不知痛

直譯：A monkey does not feel pain when one of his hair is plucked off. 猴毛被拔一隻，尚不知痛(很多就另當別論)

意譯：One can stand a small loss but one complains when suffering a big one. (可以容忍小損失，但當遭受巨大損失時，則大聲抱怨)

16) 人為財死，鳥為食亡

意譯：People die in pursuit of wealth while birds die for food.(勿因貪而喪命) 《in pursuit of +n. 追求》
