l 有次在美國搭乘國內航線，下機時看到機長與空服員們照例

在機艙口歡送旅客時，筆者對機長說：”Thanks for happy landing!”(謝謝讓

我們平安降落)！ 機長會心一笑以對。*“Have a nice trip!” (指一般旅行)

landing 之相對為take off 起飛; 但送行時沒有人說“Happy take-off”; 人們

似乎以為「飛」沒問題； 安全降落才是重要。可是, 幾年前，發生於台灣

桃園機場，新加坡航空 (Singapore Airlines)，一架班機曾造成幾十人死傷的

悲慘意外，卻是飛機在跑道滑行準備起飛時發生的。相較於2009年1月一架

US Airways航空公司班機，起飛不久，因飛鳥闖入引擎內，而導致緊急迫降

(emergency landing)於紐約Hudson River上，令人吃驚與欣慰的是(To our

amazement and relief…) 是，飛機上無一人罹難。事後該機機長(pilot)被捧為

英雄。

另take off可連成一字︰
