31) 英語如何講某一件事情的第三者?

指一群人或一個個體，如作法律用語則指「一方」，可以用party表示。例如：the third ~第三者。

It is the third -~ profit. (漁翁得利)。

Joke: 【一位女生問一位交往中的男友：『你說你未婚，你沒有騙

我吧! 我可不願當「第三者」』。所謂的「第三者」是指介入一對夫婦感情的男、女任何一方】。

In Iranian eyes, the guilty ~ is always the British. 在伊朗人眼中，英

國人總是有罪(不對) 的一方。

She talked to the mouthpiece," This is the right number, but the wrong~.”

她對著電話話筒說︰「你打的號碼對，但沒有此人」。

“If you know your party extension, press now; or press zero, and let

the operator assist you.”請直撥分機號碼，或按0由總機替你服務。

*the innocent party: 無辜的關係人

另外，

party n.作「黨派」解，the Republican (Democratic) P~ 共和(民主)黨；partisan 支援者；

bi-partisan 兩黨政治；political ~ 政黨政治。party interest 政黨利益

Tea Party由美國國內民間保守派人士組成，專門批評歐巴馬的政策，它與茶葉無關，它是Tax Enough Already (抗議稅負已太重) 之縮寫。例：

The Tea Party movement is an American political movement that is primarily known for advocating a reduction in the U.S. national debt and federal budget deficit by reducing U.S. government spending and taxes. The movement has been called partly conservative, partly libertarian, and partly populist. It has sponsored protests ...

茶黨運動是美國的政治運動，其主要出名的是，藉減少美國政府的支出與徵稅，主張減少美國國債，與州政府預算赤字。這個運動一直被稱是部分保守，部分自由派與人民至上為主。它一向贊助抗議活動。

*【它是美國政壇崛起的一股新生力量，儼然是第三黨】。

【註】：此party與Boston Tea Party (發生於1773年) 背景不同，但百姓

抗議政府意義相似。

【比較】：

*faction n. (政黨內) 小派系。

*public liability 第三 (公共)責任險『雖然沒有third party，public已隱含其意』

當然一般party ~ n. ：指聚會︰birthday ~生日派對，welcome ~迎新會，farewell ~惜別會。

a ~ girl 交際花。

With economic recession, they threw a ~on a budget. 因經濟蕭條，他們開了一個有預算限制

的派對。

*“The party is over.” 晚會已結束。(別再胡鬧了-不悅的提醒句) a storming party突擊隊

=commando (比較：commander n. 司令官)

= a party of people who take someone/some place by storm指出其不意攻擊他人者

(比較：游擊隊-guerrilla = a force of irregular soldiers)
