23) conditional / conditioned:

condition n. 條件 (＊＊其前面介詞用 on)

On ~ that you return the book next week I can lend it to you 衹要你下周歸還

這本書，我就可以借給你。

on ~ that+ 子句 = if 在….條件下

但若作情况解時，其前面介詞用 in：

Can you guarantee the car is in good ~?你能保證車况良好?

1.     conditional  a. 有條件的； a ~ license 有條件的執照 (可能含時間或其

他事情之完成)。

Tony Blair gave Bush a ~ commitment to support the military action in Iraq.                

前英國首相給了布希一項有條件的承諾-支持在伊拉克的軍事行動。

un~ surrender無條件投降；a salesperson with license~ 有資格期限的經紀人

2. conditioned a. 有限制的；有調節的 * air-conditioner n.空調 (冷氣機)

The room is air-~ ed.  房間有空調。

The room with air-conditioning is upstairs. 有空調的房間在樓上。

24) confident / confidential /confidant:

1.     confident a. 有信心的 (指人)

a. 人 be ~ of + Ving. 

We are ~ of winning the war before rainy season sets in. 我們自(確)信在雨季前

打嬴這場戰爭。

b. be confident in + n. = have confidence in + n. 

I am ~ in the outcome of the test. 我對考試結果有信心。

c. be ~ that + 子句：

None is ~ that Joseph can turn in the report by the deadline. 沒有人有信心他

能在截止日期前繳交報告。** confidant [`kDnfD'd$nt] n. 知己 (a close or

 bosom friend)

* confidence n. 信心

Our ~ in the leader helped him break through all obstacles. 我們對領導的信

心助他突破一切障礙。

* As a parent my father was flawed, yet he gave his daughter ~to realize her

 dreams. 身為家長，父親是有缺點，但他給予女兒實現她美夢的信心。

2. confidential  a. 機密的 (指事或消息)

This information must be kept~; anyone who releases it shall be punished.

這是機密; 任何透露它的人會受懲罰。

confidentiality n. 機密性
