These
cats are rather like dogs in some ways.
1. rather adv. (有幾分) = a little = slightly (輕微地)
2. fairly
adv.
a. This is a fairly easy book.
b. This is a rather
easy book.
3. rather
I thought the movie was funny,
but in fact it was rather
boring.
【The sweet things of the world have to be
patiently waited for, and do not usually come otherwise than drop by drop. 】
adv. = in a different way;not otherwise than = only)
4. rather
Most people dislike car
speeding, but some young people ~ enjoy it.
would rather +V,

8) I don’t think that I shall ever meet such a nice man again.
not….ever = never

I don’t suppose
that she will show up this
evening.
We don’t believe it is true.
